Emanuele Giordano, researcher, one of the most important personalities of Arb\u00ebresh culture, passed away in the hospital of Lungro (Italy). He was born in Frascineto, Calabria, Italy, in 1920. In his hometown, he completed primary school, then went to Hora e Arb\u00ebresh\u00ebve ( Italian: <\/i>Piana degli Albanesi) gymnasium. In 1933, he continued his studies at the Grotaferrata Seminary (Rome) where he studied philosophy and theology. Emanuele Giordano was an expert and attentive researcher of philology, Italian and Arb\u00ebresh literature, as well as the author of many important works, among which we mention: \u201cFjalori i Arb\u00ebreshvet t\u2019Italis\u00eb\u201d (“The vocabulary of the Arb\u00ebresh of Italy”)<\/i> (1963); \u201cShpata e Skanderbekut nde Dibr\u00ebt Posht\u00eb\u201d (\u201cThe sword of Skanderbeg from Dibra and below\u201d)<\/i> (1967); \u201cAlfabetizzazione Arb\u00ebreshe\u201d (Arb\u00ebresh writing and reading, 2000)<\/i>. In 1972, he directed the cultural magazine “Z\u00ebri i Arb\u00ebreshvet” ( La voce degli Albanesi d’Italia) (\u201cThe voice of Arb\u00ebresh\u201d)<\/i>, as well as collaborated with Ernest Koliqi’s magazine “Shejzat”<\/i> and Albino Greco’s “Zgjimi” (\u201cThe awakening\u201d)<\/i> magazine. With the initiative undertaken by the Center for Studies and Publications for Arb\u00ebresh (CSPA), from 2020, one of the streets of Tirana bears the name “Emanuele Giordano”.
