He was born in Shkod\u00ebr, in 1920. He graduated from the state high school in his hometown. He studied flute and composition in Florence. In the years 1946-1953, he worked in various tasks in the field of culture and music; since 1953, he taught at the &#8220;Jordan Misja&#8221; artistic high school, where he founded the flute class, the folklore class, and the cabinet of folk instruments, which became the basis of Albanian ethnomusicology. He conducted many expeditions and collected rich folkloric material. In 1957, he participated in the complex expedition with the German researchers Doris and Errik Shtokman and Wilfrid Fidler; in 1958, he led the Albanian-romanian expedition. Ramadan Sokoli has published a series of works from the field of ethnomusicology and musicology, such as: &#8221; <i>Les danses populaires et les instruments musicaux du peuple albanais <\/i>&#8220;, 1958 <i>(&#8220;The folk dances and musical instruments of the Albanian people&#8221;)<\/i>; &#8221; <i>Chansons populaires albanaises&#8221;<\/i>, 1966 <i>(&#8220;Albanian folk songs&#8221;)<\/i>; <i>\u201cFigura t\u00eb ndritura: Jan Kukuzeli dhe Andrea Aleksi\u201d (\u201cProminent Figures: Jan Kukuzeli and Andrea Aleksi\u201d)<\/i>, 1965; <i>\u201cFolklori muzikor shqiptar (Morfologjia)\u201d (\u201cAlbanian music folklore (Morphology))\u201d<\/i>, 1965; <i>\u201cVallet dhe muzika e t\u00eb par\u00ebve tan\u00eb\u201d(&#8220;The dances and music of our ancestors&#8221;) <\/i>(1971); <i>\u201cFolklori muzikor shqiptar (Organografia)\u201d (\u201cAlbanian music folklore (Organography)\u201d)<\/i>, 1975\u202f (republished in 1984, 1987, 1991); <i>\u201cFigura e Sk\u00ebnderbeut n\u00eb muzik\u00eb\u201d (\u201cThe figure of Skanderbeg in music\u201d)<\/i> (1978); <i>\u201cGjurmime folklorike\u201d (&#8220;Folkloric Studies\u201d) <\/i>(1982); <i>\u201cK\u00ebng\u00eb patriotike\u201d (\u201cPatriotic Songs\u201d)<\/i> (1985); <i>\u201cVeglat muzikore t\u00eb popullit shqiptar\u201d (\u201cThe musical instruments of the Albanian people\u201d)<\/i> (co-author) (1991). Ramadan Sokoli has traced the figures of the Albanian art and culture over the centuries and published the books <i>\u201c16 shekuj\u201d (\u201c16 centuries\u201d) <\/i>(1995), <i>\u201cGoj\u00ebdh\u00ebnat e bot\u00ebs shqiptare\u201d (\u201cThe legends of the Albanian world\u201d)<\/i> (2000). He has regularly published articles in his musical studies and other art and national culture fields. Ramadan Sokoli has composed vocal-instrumental and symphonic musical works, especially many songs that have become popular.
