Dom Nikoll\u00eb Gazulli, catholic clergyman, ethnographer, historian, lexicographer and linguist, founder of Albanian toponymy and onomasticity, was killed in Vrith of Mal\u00ebsi e Madhe. He was born in Daj\u00e7, Zadrima, in 1894. He received his first lessons in the village school, he continued his secondary education in Shkod\u00ebr, and his higher education in Austria. He worked in the Mal\u00ebsi e Madhe area (in the parish of Shkreli) for many years. Tracing through the villages of this parish, such as Kelmend, Hot, Puk\u00eb, Daj\u00e7 of Bregu i Bun\u00ebs, Ulcin, etc., he gathered and analyzed with scientific seriousness, for years on end, thousands of rare words, idiomatic expressions, onomastic materials (like place names, rivers, tribes, etc.), oral traditions, historical and mythological facts, etc., which he compiled in his two major works \u201cFjalorth i ri\u201d<\/i> (fjal\u00eb t\u00eb rralla t\u00eb p\u00ebrdoruna n\u00eb Veri t\u00eb Shqipnis\u00eb) (\u201cThe new dictionary\u201d)<\/i>, Tirana, 1941, included in the series “Visaret e kombit” (\u201cThe treasures of the nation\u201d)<\/i>, vol. XI, and “Fjalori onomastik” (\u201cThe onomastic dictionary\u201d)<\/i>, published under the pseudonym “Gelasius” in the magazine “Hylli i Drit\u00ebs” 1939, a total of 21 issues.
