In Psar, Kolonja, Muhamet Prodani was born\u2014a participant in the National Liberation War, lieutenant general, and Hero of the People. As a student at the technical school in Kor\u00e7a, he took part in early anti-fascist demonstrations. In October 1942, he joined the partisans in the Kolonja squad, soon becoming its deputy commander. In May 1943, he became the deputy commander of the \u201cHakmarrja\u201d Battalion. Upon the formation of the 1st Assault Brigade, he was appointed company commander and later battalion commander. During the liberation of Tirana, he commanded the 1st Assault Brigade. Following liberation, he was assigned various roles: commander of the 3rd Assault Division (December 1944), commander of the Second Army Corps Rear Lines (April 1945); he served in the Ministry of Defense, in the Army Rear Lines Command, and as director of the State Border Directorate (1950). Between 1950\u20131954, he completed higher military studies at the “Frunze” Academy in Moscow. He commanded the Coastal Defense Command in Durr\u00ebs (January 1958 \u2013 October 1959); the Armored Vehicles Command (1959\u20131961); and held positions as both commander (1961\u20131965) and political commissar (1966\u20131971) of the 7th Corps in Gjirokast\u00ebr, later becoming director of the Army’s Operational Directorate (1972 \u2013 July 1974). He briefly served in the command of the People’s Voluntary Self-Defense Forces. In 1970, he was elected deputy of Kolonja. In December 1974, amid military purges, he was expelled from the army and from Tirana. In 1980, he was arrested, sentenced to 14 years in prison, and sent to Burrel prison.
