Passed away Risto Siliqi, poet and publicist, patriot and democrat. Born in Shkod\u00ebr in 1882, he joined the patriotic movement at a young age and was a member of the committee leading the Armed Uprising of 1911. After the Declaration of Independence in 1913, together with Hil\u00eb Mosi, he published the newspaper Shqypnia e re<\/i> in Shkod\u00ebr, which defended the interests of the national movement and exposed the ambitions of neighboring countries. After the failure of the June Revolution (1924), he withdrew from political life. Siliqi’s literary activity was mainly developed between 1905 and 1915, with a series of journalistic writings and poetic creations in the press of the time. In 1912, he published Pasqyra e dit\u00ebve t\u00eb p\u00ebrgjakshme<\/i>, a chronicle of the events experienced during the Mal\u00ebsia e Madhe Uprising. From these events, he drew inspiration for poems dedicated to the heroism of the people and notable freedom fighters.
