Dioniz Makaj, a Catholic cleric, was born in Shkod\u00ebr. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Franciscan College of Shkod\u00ebr and pursued higher studies in Rome. On July 15, 1936, he was ordained a priest and returned to Shkod\u00ebr, where he was assigned as the parish priest of Nikaj-M\u00ebrtur. He was arrested on February 2, 1945, and released in 1953 after serving his full sentence. From July 15, 1956, to March 19, 1967, he served as the parish priest in Iball\u00eb, Puk\u00eb. Following the closure of churches, he lived with his nephew, Pal Makaj, in Shkod\u00ebr until 1991. He passed away in Shkod\u00ebr in 2004 and was buried on January 1, 2005, at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Arra e Madhe, Shkod\u00ebr.<\/p>\n
