Jocelyn Percy, a senior Eng<\/span>li<\/span>sh soldier known for his role in the organization and t<\/span>ra<\/span>ining of the Albanian gendarmerie, passed away. He was born in 1871 and arrived in Albania on September 29, 1926, to succeed Colonel Stir<\/span>li<\/span>ng as the inspector and gene<\/span>ra<\/span>l<\/span> organizer of the gendarmerie. With extensive experience gained from working in Eng<\/span>li<\/span>sh colonies, Percy implemented a service requirement of 4-5 years for conscript gendarmes and contributed to the reorganization of the gendarmerie, striving to instill res<\/span>pect for the law and improve law enforcement p<\/span>ra<\/span>ctices. Despite his efforts, he was unable to curtail corruption within the gendarmerie.
