The first issue of the newspaper “<\/span>Shk<\/span>u<\/span>pi<\/span>” (“Skopje”) was pub<\/span>li<\/span>shed in 1911-1912 in Skopje, <\/span>ma<\/span>rking it as the only pub<\/span>li<\/span>cation in the Albanian language within the Province of Kosovo and the first newspaper to <\/span>emerge<\/span> in the ter<\/span>ritories of Kosovo and <\/span>Ma<\/span>cedonia. Directed by the reviva<\/span>li<\/span>st and pub<\/span>li<\/span>cist Jashar <\/span>Ereba<\/span>ra<\/span>, “<\/span>Shk<\/span>u<\/span>pi<\/span>” played a significant role in affirming the <\/span>Albanian cause for full independence. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: The front page of the “<\/em><\/span>Skopjei<\/span><\/em>” newspaper, 1911<\/em>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
