Ferdinand <\/span>Ra<\/span>di<\/span>, an <\/span>actor<\/span> and playwright born in Durrës, became active early in the a<\/span>ma<\/span>teur theater mov<\/span>ement in Ti<\/span>ra<\/span>na, where he worked as an actor, director, and playwright. After completing a one-year course in directing, he began his professional acting career in 1972 at the “<\/span>Teatri<\/span> i<\/span> të<\/span> rinjve<\/span>” (“Youth Theatre”) affi<\/span>li<\/span>ated with the Higher Institute of A<\/span>rts. He played various roles, with a notable perfor<\/span>ma<\/span>nce as the factory worker Tak-Faku in the d<\/span>ra<\/span>ma<\/span> “<\/span>Një<\/span> shok<\/span> i<\/span> klasës<\/span> sonë<\/span>” (“A Friend of Our Class”) by Kujtim <\/span>Spahivog<\/span>li<\/span>. In 1991, he joined the National Theatre, where he <\/span>predominantly took<\/span> on secondary <\/span>and episodic roles, focusing on creating comic cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cters such as rude, mischievous, st<\/span>ra<\/span>nge, or addicted individuals. <\/span>Ra<\/span>di was also active in cine<\/span>ma<\/span>tog<\/span>ra<\/span>phy, appearing in 13 films. His physical attributes suited comedic roles, cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cterized by a stout fig<\/span>ure, coarse speech, and expressive mime. His perfor<\/span>ma<\/span>nces were <\/span>ma<\/span>rked by authenticity, even when exagge<\/span>ra<\/span>ting actions or caricaturing cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cters. Additionally, he researched humorous events from the <\/span>li<\/span>ves of artists and compiled them into a special book pu<\/span>b<\/span>li<\/span>shed in 2003. He wrote seve<\/span>ra<\/span>l d<\/span>ra<\/span>ma<\/span>s and comedies, with “<\/span>Tetë<\/span> persona plus” (“Eight People Plus”) (1996) being particularly successful and enjoying a lengthy run on the stage of the National Theatre.
