Loro <\/span>Kovaçi<\/span>, an actor and People’s Artist, was born in Shkodër. From<\/span> 1923 to 1926, he was a member of the “Bogdani” society, after which he <\/span>estab<\/span>li<\/span>shed<\/span> his own theater group, which <\/span>ope<\/span>ra<\/span>ted<\/span> until 1939. During this time, <\/span>Kovaçi<\/span> port<\/span>ra<\/span>yed seve<\/span>ra<\/span>l historical figures, including <\/span>Moisi<\/span> Golemi, <\/span>Skenderbeu<\/span>, and Lekë Dukagjin. In 1<\/span>947, he began performing at the People’s Theater, where he continued to work until the end of his <\/span>li<\/span>fe. His experience in interpreting historical roles was particularly <\/span>evident<\/span> in his port<\/span>ra<\/span>yal of <\/span>Bejtash<\/span> Sylë<\/span> in “Ha<\/span>li<\/span>li<\/span> and Hajrija” by Kolë <\/span>Jakovo<\/span> in 1952<\/span>. <\/span>Kovaçi<\/span> became widely known for his role as <\/span>Tuç<\/span> Ma<\/span>k<\/span>u in the d<\/span>ra<\/span>ma<\/span> “Toka <\/span>jonë<\/span>” (“Our Land”) in 1954. He created high-level artistic figures with a national cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cter on stage <\/span>and also<\/span> excelled in roles by world d<\/span>ra<\/span>ma<\/span>tists, such as the judge and the prefect<\/span> in “<\/span>Revizori<\/span>” (“The Auditor”) by Nikolai Gogol in 1952, as well as Othello and Claudius in Shakespeare’s “Othello” (1953) and “Hamlet” (1960). Additionally, he appeared in seve<\/span>ra<\/span>l films, including “<\/span>Bijtë<\/span> e <\/span>saj<\/span>” (“Her Children”), “<\/span>Debatiku<\/span>” (“The Debater”)<\/span>, “Toka <\/span>jonë<\/span>” (“Our Earth”), and “<\/span>Komisari<\/span> i<\/span> dritës<\/span>” (“Commissioner of <\/span>Li<\/span>ght”), where he stood out in cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cter roles. <\/span>Loro <\/span>Kovaçi<\/span> passed away in Ti<\/span>ra<\/span>na in 1966. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: <\/em><\/span>Loro <\/span><\/em>Kovaçi<\/em><\/span>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
