Li<\/span>za<\/span> L<\/span>aska, a distinguished <\/span>actress<\/span> and Merited Artist, passed away in Vlo<\/span>ra<\/span>. Born in Vlo<\/span>ra<\/span> in 1926, she <\/span>showcased<\/span> her talent from <\/span>a young age<\/span>.<\/span> In <\/span>Korça<\/span>, she was a founding <\/span>actress<\/span> of the city’s professional theater, where she played leading roles until 1962. That year, she became one of the first <\/span>actresses<\/span> to help form the troupe of the Professional Theater of Vlo<\/span>ra<\/span>, where she worked until her r<\/span>etirement. Laska excelled in port<\/span>ra<\/span>ying epic mothers who endured great t<\/span>ra<\/span>gedies and losses for their sons who fell for freedom, as well as suffering and unfortunate women who stoically faced the consequences of a <\/span>li<\/span>fe marked by violence. She also depicted<\/span> emancipated women and loving mothers and g<\/span>ra<\/span>ndmothers. In addition to her main roles, <\/span>Li<\/span>za<\/span> L<\/span>aska masterfully embodied <\/span>numerous<\/span> secondary and episodic cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cters, capturing <\/span>li<\/span>fe types with remarkable origina<\/span>li<\/span>ty. Her performances were cha<\/span>ra<\/span>cterized by trut<\/span>hfulness, deep rea<\/span>li<\/span>sm, emotional complexity, d<\/span>ra<\/span>ma, and t<\/span>ra<\/span>gedy, often infused with lyrical and poetic tones that high<\/span>li<\/span>ghted the de<\/span>li<\/span>cacy of behavior and the f<\/span>ra<\/span>gi<\/span>li<\/span>ty of fee<\/span>li<\/span>ngs. She <\/span>possessed<\/span> a warm, soft, melodious voice, with <\/span>a clear sound<\/span> and inton<\/span>ation reflective of Labe speech. Beyond the theater, <\/span>Li<\/span>za<\/span> L<\/span>aska performed in 13 different roles in film, including a mother in “<\/span>Shtigje<\/span> Lufte<\/span>” (“War Paths”) (1974), Ma<\/span>ra<\/span> in “<\/span>Dimri<\/span> i<\/span> fundit<\/span>” (“The Last Winter”) (1976), for which she won the Festival Medal<\/span>li<\/span>on; the cleaner in “<\/span>Lulëkuqe<\/span> mbi<\/span> mure<\/span>” (“Poppy on the Wall”) (1976); <\/span>Belu<\/span>li<\/span>‘s<\/span> mother in “Guna <\/span>mbi<\/span> tela<\/span>” (“Cloak on Wires”) (1977); Evgenia in “<\/span>Në<\/span> p<\/span>ra<\/span>g<\/span> të<\/span> li<\/span>risë<\/span>” (“On the Verge of Freedom”) (1981); mother in “<\/span>Vendimi<\/span>” (“The Decision”) (1984); Aunt Sofia in<\/span> “<\/span>Gurët<\/span> e <\/span>shtëpisë<\/span> sime<\/span>” (“The Stones of My House”) (1985); and Boni’s friend in “<\/span>Vdekja<\/span> e <\/span>burrit<\/span>” (“Death of the Husband”) (1992), among others. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: <\/em><\/span>Li<\/span>za<\/span> L<\/span><\/em>aska<\/em>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
