Vehbi<\/span> Rexhepi, political activist, was born in <\/span>Gjilan<\/span>. He attended elementary school and public civic school in his hometown, while he attended vocational high school “<\/span>Realka<\/span>” in Skopje, and the Higher Political School in Belgrade. In May 1943, he was arrested in Tirana and sentenced to two and a half years in prison, from which he was released only after the capitulation of Italy (September 10, 1943). He was among the founders of the Anti-Fascist Youth Organization of <\/span>Gjilan<\/span>. Part of the anti-fascist activity was carried out in Sanjak. In <\/span>Prijepole<\/span>, he was imprisoned twice by the Gestapo. After the liberation of <\/span>Prijepole<\/span>, he joined the units of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, where he stayed until March 1945. Then he returned to <\/span>Gjilan<\/span>, where he performed <\/span>numerous<\/span> tasks with responsibility, until October 1950, when he was imprisoned and sent to the prison of Otoku’s goal. After returning from Goli <\/span>Otoku<\/span>, in 1953 he moved to Skopje, where he worked as a photographer. Later he returns to Pristina and opens a private photography studio.
