Ndreko<\/span> Rino, participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, was born in Libohova (Gjirokastër). In his hometown, he completed the city school and the National Lyceum (French) in <\/span>Korça<\/span>. He first <\/span>participated<\/span> in anti-fascist youth groups. Commander of the guerrilla unit of Libohova (1941–1943), with the establishment of the 1st Assault Brigade, he was appointed commander of its 1st battalion (1943–1944), commander of the XXIV Assault Brigade (1944–1945), commander of the II Assault Division of the Division VI Attacker (1945), in 1946-1947, head of the People’s Protection Section in Berat district and commander of the Regiment in <\/span>Korça<\/span>. After completing his studies (1947–1951) at the “Frunze” Military Academy in Moscow, he was appointed director of the Border at the Ministry of the Interior (1951–1971), then head of the Civil Defense Sector at the Prime Minister’s Office (1971–1973) and Secretary General of the National Committee of Veterans of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War (1973–1979). He <\/span>was<\/span> decorated with war and military service orders and medals. As a writer (member of the League of Writers and Artists of Albania), he has published books <\/span>about the<\/span> Anti-Fascist National Liberation War and border guarding forces.
