Said <\/span>Najdeni<\/span> (<\/span>Hoxhë<\/span> Voka<\/span>), activist of the National Movement, Teacher of the People, passed away. He was born in the village of <\/span>Perlep<\/span> in Dibra e <\/span>Madhe<\/span>, in 1864. He completed his higher studies in Istanbul, at the Hajdar <\/span>Fatihu<\/span> Madrasah (1884). After opening the first Albanian school in <\/span>Korça<\/span> (1887), he secretly opened the first Albanian school in Dibra e <\/span>Madhe<\/span> (1888) in the basement of Sherif Gorence’s store. Then he opened other schools in <\/span>Golloborde<\/span>, <\/span>Zerqan<\/span>, <\/span>Dohoshisht<\/span>, <\/span>Brezhdan<\/span>, etc. Due to his patriotic activity, he was arrested and sentenced to 15 months in prison in Istanbul. Although sick with tuberculosis, Said <\/span>Najdeni<\/span> helped organize the “Covenant of Dibra”, which became part of the “League of Peja” (1899). In 1900, he published in Sofia the book “<\/span><\/span>Abetare<\/span> e <\/span>gjuhës<\/span> shqipe<\/span>, <\/span>ndë<\/span> të<\/span> folë<\/span> gegenisht<\/span><\/span>“, based on Sami <\/span>Frashër’s<\/span> primer. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: Said <\/span>Najdeni<\/span>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
