Nazmi Rushiti, participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, died in <\/span>Zerqan<\/span> of Dibra. He was born in <\/span>Dovolan<\/span>, <\/span>Peshkopia<\/span>, in 1915. He embraced communist ideas while attending high school in Tirana and Shkodër and became a member of the Communist Group of Shkodër. <\/span>In January 1939 he was arrested and sentenced to prison by the trial that was organized against the communists in Tirana.<\/span> He escaped from prison after the fascist aggression of April 7. In December 1939, he was expelled from the Shkodra <\/span>High School<\/span> and exiled to the Italian island of Ventotene. He returned to his homeland in September 1941. With the establishment of the Albanian Communist Party, he was accepted as a member and then sent to the district of Dibra. He helped organize the armed struggle in the district of Dibra. In a brave action in <\/span>Zerqan<\/span>, he was seriously injured and died from fascist torture. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: Nazmi Rushiti)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
