Xhevat Qena, actor, was born in Mitrovica (Kosovo). He finished primary and secondary school in his hometown. He was engaged in the Regional People’s Theater since 1952. During his long career as an actor, he performed in numerous performances of world and Albanian dramaturgy, mainly in the Regional People’s Theater (TPK). Among the most popular shows, where he performed the most distinguished roles on the stage of this theater, are: “Nuk martohem me par\u00eb” (\u201cI won\u2019t marry before\u201d), “Servant of two masters”, “Koshtana<\/i>“, “Kryet e hudr\u00ebs” (\u201cHead of garlic\u201d), \u201cZonja ministresh\u201d (\u201cThe minister lady\u201d). In addition to comic roles, Xhevat Qena was also involved in dramatic roles, among which the role of Gjegjeu in the play “Sinkopa<\/i>” stands out. He also performed in the stage productions of Serbian and Turkish dramas, within the Provincial People’s Theatre, such as in the plays “Personi i dyshimt\u00eb” (\u201cThe suspicious person\u201d), “Shpijuni” (\u201cThe Spy\u201d). For his stage creation, at the “Joakim Vujiq” theater meetings, held in Kragujevac (1966), he was awarded the best actor award for his role of Selver in Moliere’s “Dredhit\u00eb e Shaptukut<\/i>\u201d play, directed by Muharrem Qena. He was also engaged as an actor in cinematography, playing in the films: “Uka i Bjeshk\u00ebve t\u00eb Nemuna<\/i>” (1968), “Si t\u00eb vdiset” (\u201cHow to die\u201d) (1972), then in the films of director Ekrem Kryeziu “Gjurm\u00ebt e bardha” (\u201cWhite traces\u201d) (1980) and ” Kur pranvera vonohet\u201d (\u201cWhen spring is delayed\u201d)(1980) etc. He also played in other television series and projects.
