The III Assault Brigade of the Albanian National Liberation Army was formed in the village of Arban\u00eb in Tirana. It was formed on the basis of the battalion of Ishmi and with members of the guerilla units of Tirana. It was inaugurated on October 16, because on October 9, it fought fierce battles with the German forces that had surrounded Arban\u00eb. On the day of the inauguration, the brigade had a total of 379 partisans and cadres, arranged in 3 battalions, a 75\/13 mm artillery battery, and an 81 mm mortar company. On October 18, 1943, the artillery of the III Assault Brigade fired at the building (today the Palace of Brigades) where the National Assembly was meeting. The III Assault Brigade fought in the area of Qaf\u00eb-K\u00ebrrab and Peqin, as well as for the cleansing of the area of Dajti from the invaders and their collaborators; undertook military actions for the destruction of Nazi gendarmerie posts near Tirana and within the city, such as in Skuterr\u00eb (Qaf\u00eb-K\u00ebrrab\u00eb) and Selb\u00eb. During the General Offensive of Winter 1943-1944 , the 3rd Assault Brigade fought fierce battles in Peza and \u00c7ermenik\u00eb. After leaving the siege, it passed to the area of Mati, Lura and Kruja. In extremely difficult circumstances, created by the enemies in February 1944, its crew suffered significant damage. Afterwards, the III Assault Brigade was supplemented by forces from the I Operative Zone and reorganized to around 500 people. In the General Offensive Attack of June 1944, the 3rd Assault Brigade fought in Kokojk\u00eb of Frash\u00ebri, in Mashkullor\u00eb, in Suk\u00eb of P\u00ebrmet, etc. In July 1944, it fought to clear the area of Dajti and Martanesh from enemies and carried out combat operations to secure the back of the forces of the 1st Assault Division during the training in Central and Northern Albania. In August, it acted as part of the II Assault Division against German forces and collaborators in the area of Elbasan, Tirana and its surroundings. In September-October 1944, it operated in the Kuk\u00ebs-Peshkopi area, together with the V Assault Brigade; in October 1944, with the V Assault Brigade, it went to Kosovo and took part in its liberation. On November 25, 1944, it joined the V Attack Division and as part of it continued the fight against the Nazi army in Sanjak, Yugoslavia. After that, the III Assault Brigade was aligned with the VI Assault Division of the Albanian National Liberation Army.
