He was born in Shkod\u00ebr, in 1922. He studied law at the university in Florence (1941-1943). In 1945, he worked as a literature teacher in Tirana and Shkod\u00ebr, later in the Ministry of Education and Culture for the new textbooks. Because of his critical writings, he was arrested in 1946 and died in prison. Qemal Dra\u00e7ini started his literary creativity in poetry and prose. His critical studies on N. Frash\u00ebri, Gj. Fishta, N. Mjeda, Migjen, etc., stand out for originality and sharpness of judgment and analysis.
