He was born in Ferizaj, Kosovo, in 1898. He studied at the Shkodra Seminary, then in Innsbruck, Austria, and finally, in 1919, in Rome. He was ordained a priest in Rome on May 13, 1921. In 1930 he returned to Albania for the Diocese of Durr\u00ebs, currently Tirana-Durr\u00ebs. In Kosovo, he was a parish priest in Ferizaj and Novosel\u00eb. In Albania, he was the parish priest of Zheja, Gurr\u00ebz, Tirana. He was arrested twice: the first time in Tirana on October 27, 1946 and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, of which he served 17, in the terrible prison of Burrel; the second time he was arrested in Gurr\u00ebz, on June 11, 1970.
