The “Second Lybeniq Massacre” took place, a massacre by the military and police forces of Serbia, committed against the civilian inhabitants of the village of Lybeniq near Peja and around it. Almost a year after the first massacre (May 25, 1998), Serbian military-police and paramilitary forces, together with local Serbs and Montenegrins, attacked the village of Lybeniq again. Since the early hours of the morning, Serbian forces shelled the village from the military base of Zagerma and from the Pej\u00eb-De\u00e7an main road. Afterwards, the infantry forces took the villagers, women, old people and children, who had taken shelter in the cellars, out of their houses. The mass gathered in the center of the village destroyed their identification documents and robbed them of everything of value. At the same time, they singled out about 80 men and young men, who then executed them, while women, elders and children were ordered to take the road to Albania. On the way, the unit that carried out the executions, after the order it received via radio, fired volleys of volleys in the direction of the crowd, executing the vast majority of the detainees: 66 were killed, while 12 others were wounded, pretending to be dead.
