Vath Koreshi, a renowned writer and screenwriter, was born in Lushnja. After graduating from the \u201c7 N\u0451ntori\u201d Polytechnic, he spent five years working on geological expeditions in the districts of Tropoja and Kuk\u00ebs. The vivid impressions of the stunning landscapes and the countless events he witnessed and experienced on the construction sites in the North left a lasting impact on his memory, influencing his entire literary and cinematographic career. In 1964, he completed his higher studies at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Languages and Literature, and began working as a journalist for the \u201cZ\u0451ri i Rinis\u0451\u201d and \u201cDrita\u201d organizations. Vath Koreshi dedicated himself extensively to cinematographic art without abandoning literary creativity; rather, his work exemplifies the mutual influence of these two creative fields. His literature brought to cinematography a diverse range of characters with vivid dialogues, while his experience in film enriched his literary work with insights into compositional structure and refined rhythm. He served as the chief of the feature film editorial office at Kinostudio \u201cShqip\u0451ria e Re\u201d (New Albania) from 1978 to 1983, director of the Arts Directorate in the Culture and Arts Committee from 1987 to 1991, and Minister of Culture from 1991 to 1992. In 1995, he became editor-in-chief of the cultural magazine ‘Art,’ and in 2000, he was appointed director of the ‘Onufri’ Publishing House. He also served as a deputy in the People’s Assembly during the 2001-2005 legislature. In 2008, two years after his death, the President of the Republic honored him with the high title \u201cNder i Kombit\u201d (Honour of the Nation). He passed away in 2006.
