Muharrem Fejzo, director, sculptor, and makeup artist, was born in Ersek\u00eb. He graduated from the artistic lyceum “Jordan Misja” in Tirana, specializing in sculpture, in 1954. He completed his higher education at the Higher Institute of Arts in the drama department in 1966, and then worked as a director in the Kuk\u00ebs Estrada from 1967 to 1968. In 1969, he joined the movie studio as an assistant director and made his directorial debut with the film Montatorja (screenplay by Dh. Xhuvani) in 1970. Fejzo’s work is distinguished by his artistic rigor, a strong commitment to improving his professional skills, and his rich figurative culture. His organizational abilities particularly shone when directing large-scale scenes. Despite his work as a director, he continued to practice his first profession as a sculptor, and throughout his career, he created several artworks and participated in exhibitions. In 2001, he was elected president of the Association of Albanian Cinematographers, and a year later, he was awarded the title of “Great Master of Work.” Muharrem Fejzo passed away in 2020.
