Ndrek Shkjezi, actor, Merited Artist <\/i>, was born in Shkod\u00ebr. From the age of 16 he became active in the amateur theater movement of his hometown, first in a small orchestra, then he started singing in intemexo, later he played the role of a drunkard and a dentist. After finishing the army, he moved from his hometown, settled in Tirana and entered the Army Ensemble as a singer. In 1945, he started working at the State Theatre, as one of its founding actors; he stopped working for three years (1947\u20131950), when he did his military service, and continued in this theater until he retired in 1977. He created about 70 different figures. Ndrek Shkjezi was one of the most successful actors of “small roles”; was noted for the construction of individual characters. He was a master of figurative gesture, of finding an essential quality for portraying characters. Ndrek Shkjezi used expressive details, both in the plastic treatment of the figure and in the form of its conception. From the way he acted emanated a subtle humor, redeemed, but with content and a sharp edge. Sometimes he used elements of the grotesque, but refracted under the lens of whipping satire.
