Abaz Hado, an Albanian painter, graphic artist, and curator of the 20th and 21st centuries, was born in Shijak. Hado attended the artistic high school “Jordan Misja” and the Institute of Fine Arts in Tirana, specializing in graphic arts, and also pursued a course in art criticism at the University of Arts. In 2013, he defended his doctoral thesis. Abaz Hado has served as a teacher and senior official in several state institutions, including Director of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana (2002–2005), Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports (2012–2013), and Deputy Mayor of Tirana (2016–2018). Hado has participated in local, national, and international exhibitions. After 1990, Abaz Hado participated in significant international biennials in countries such as Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Slovenia, the USA, and others. His thematic focus is closely related to the social life of Albanian cities, creating graphic cycles characterized by powerful expression and graphical rapport, both in detail and overall artistic emotion.
