Elvira Diamanti

Lexo ngjarje:

Elvira Diamanti, actress, was born in Vlora. After finishing her studies at the High Institute of Arts, in 1986 she started working as an actress at the People’s Theatre. She mainly played roles with a positive side, romantic girls in love, not infrequently with a dramatic or tragic ending. The dead game became her expressive element, to give on stage the shock that came from the moving ballad of the Albanian oral “Kostandini dhe Dhoqina” (“Kostandini and Dhoqina”), in the staging of the novella “Kush e solli Druntinën (“Doruntine”) by Ismail Kadare (1988). Elvira Diamanti has successfully acted in 12 films. She left a strong impression with the role of Marigo in “Përrallë nga e kaluara (“Fairytale from the past”) (1987), with which she won an award at the Eighth Albanian Film Festival. Through this role, she managed to underline the idea of freedom and female personality, in a society where patriarchal relationships ruled and where fate was predetermined by parental authority. Part of the beauty of the game was the ability to intertwine the psychological aspects of the experience with the elegant adaptation to the grotesque, as far as relationships with other characters were concerned. In her acting, one can see the clever use of opposites and subversive planes between the dramatic and the comic, occasionally using elements of satire. (In the photo: Elvira Diamanti)
