Faslli Haliti, poet, passed away. Born in Plug of Lushnjë, in 1935. Attended the “Jordan Misja” Artistic High School for painting and advanced studies in the branch of Albanian language and literature at the University of Tirana (1977). He worked in Lushnjë as a teacher of drawing and literature (1961-1973). For “ideological errors” in poetic creativity, he was sent for “re-education” as a worker (1973-1983). He has published the volumes “Sot” (“Today”) (1969), “Mesazhe fushe” (“Field messages”) (1984), “S’di të hesht” (“I don’t know how to be silent”) (1997), “Kaq” (“That’s it”) (2005), “Kujt t’i besoj” (“Whom to trust”) (2006), etc., and children’s poetry books. He has an original style, where metaphorical discourse is naturally interwoven with direct social issues. Faslli Haliti tends towards a synthetic poetry with diverse narrative situations, which in many cases aim to artistically convey moral and philosophical messages, in the form of poetic aphorisms. He has also translated Russian, Spanish and Italian poetry. He was a deputy in the Parliament of Albania in the years 1998-2001. (In the photo: Faslli Haliti)
