Hyzri Talla

In an ambush organized by the Serbian security forces, in the “Kodra e Diellit” neighborhood in Pristina, Hyzri Talla, an activist, one of the leaders of the war in the Llap Area, was killed. He was born in the village of Letanc in the municipality of Podujevë, in 1963. After finishing high school in Podujevë, in 1983 he enrolled in the Technical Faculty of the University of Pristina. In 1981, he joined the illegal group “Kosova e re” (“New Kosovo”), which wrote slogans and published the leaflet “Përpjekja” (“The effort”). Later he was included in the illegal structures of the People’s Movement of Kosovo and from 1995, in the National Movement for the Liberation of Kosovo. He was one of Fatmir Humolli’s close collaborators. During the years 1993-1995, he traveled to Albania several times to supply weapons. He distinguished himself in the battles that took place in Bardh të Madh and Hade in the summer of 1998 and in the Battle of Kaçanolli. Performed the duties of deputy commander of the Counterintelligence Service in the Operational Area of Llap. In 2012, he was decorated with the “Order of Freedom” by the President of Kosovo.
