In the village of Nishovë in Skrapar, Lefter Koxhaj was born, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, a martyr. He was born in the village of Nishovë in Skrapar, in 1969. He worked in construction, then emigrated to Greece. When the war started in the Presheva Valley, he decided to go to that war. But in Gjilan he was joined by a group of fighters who were preparing for war in Macedonia. Together with another group of Albanians, they formed the combat unit based in the village of Slubçan, being then included in the ranks of the National Liberation Army. The unit commanded by Lefter Koxhaj fought in Mateq, in the entire area of Karadak, as well as in Haraçina. On the night of August 6, 2001, he left with his group for an action in the city of Skopje, but on August 7 he was killed by the Macedonian police. (In the photo: Lefter Koxhaj)
