Dom Marin Shkurti, martyr of the Catholic Church, was born in Samrish of Dajçi on the Buna coast. He was born in Samrish, Dajçi, Buna Coast. At the height of the communist regime, he was prepared to become a priest privately by Archbishop Ernest Çoba, who ordained him a priest on December 8, 1961, together with Dom Mikel Beltojë. He was arrested and imprisoned in Shkodër, on November 27, 1968. He was tried in Dajç. He was sentenced to death on March 20, 1969. He passed away in 1969. (In the photo: Marin Shkurti)
