Rezalle Massacre

Lexo ngjarje:

he “Rezalle Massacre” took place, a massacre of the Serbian police and army forces against the Albanian civilian population in the village of Rezalle in Skenderaj. On April 5, 1999, Serbian forces entered the village of Rezalle and, shooting with gunfire, forced the residents to gather in the center of the village. Then the gathered residents sent them to a house in the village, where the money, valuables and personal documents were looted. On that occasion, they separated the men to one side and then added over 41 civilians aged between 13 and 90 years old. Only three people escaped from this massacre, a total of 38 people were killed, 29 of whom were from the village of Rezalle, 7 from the village of Morinë and two from the villages of Llazicë and Prekaz. A day later, the Serbian forces buried the murdered with an excavator, while on May 16 they exhumed the victims and sent them to an unknown direction, while in the place where the victims of this massacre had been buried, they threw dead animals to lose the traces of the crime. During the last war in Kosovo (1998-1999), a total of 80 residents aged between 5 and 90 were killed in this village. (In the photo: The memorial complex of the cemetery in Rezalle.)
