Sadik Kaceli, Albanian painter and graphic artist, Painter of the People, was born in Tirana. The painter Sadik Kaceli belongs to the group of important Albanian painters of the 20th century. He is regarded as one of the main figures of Albanian art who consolidated realism in Albanian painting of the first half of the 20th century, bringing to the Albanian art the main elements of French art, where he studied. He is the author of the emblem of the Republic (1946) and the national flag. Kaceli has participated in all national exhibitions and those organized by the Albanian state outside Albania. He holds the title of “Honorary Citizen” of Tirana. He passed away in Tirana, in 2000. (Photo: Sadik Kaceli)
