Teme Sejko, a rear admiral, was born in Konispol of Saranda. He completed his secondary education in Gjirokastër, Shkodër, and Tirana, where he became active in anti-fascist activities in 1941. Sejko later returned to Konispol, where he worked on forming the partisan detachment “Çamëria” and was appointed in charge of the youth of the detachment in 1943. With the establishment of the 1st Brigade, he was designated as company commissar in 1943, then became battalion commissar and a member of the brigade’s political section. He served as deputy commissioner of the XVIII Assault Brigade in October 1944 and then led the political section of the II Assault Division, ultimately heading the Directorate of People’s Protection with the rank of “major” in December 1944. Sejko completed his higher studies at the “Frunze” Military Academy in Moscow from 1945 to 1948 and was appointed division chief of staff in December 1948, division commander in May 1949, and director of the Reconnaissance Directorate at the Ministry of Defense from September 1949 to 1955. Between 1955 and 1957, he attended the Academy of the General Staff “Voroshilov” in Moscow. In January 1958, he became the commander of the Navy and was promoted to the rank of rear admiral. He was also a member of the People’s Assembly from 1950 to 1954. However, on July 28, 1960, he was arrested and subsequently accused by a military court on May 15, 1961, of being an agent for foreign secret services, leading to his death sentence.
