Political activist Mufit bej Libohova (1875–1927) passed away. He was born in Libohova. He started high school at the “Zosimea” gymnasium in Ioannina and finished at the Imperial French High School in Istanbul. He graduated in law in Istanbul and continued his studies in Lausanne (Switzerland), where he received a doctorate in political science. Deputy in the Ottoman Parliament (1908). He was one of the representatives of the province of Gjirokastra in the National Assembly in Vlora. He was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs in the Provisional Government of Vlora. He was one of the organizers of the Congress of Durrës (1918). As a minister, he followed the policy of concessions to the claims of the Italian government in Albania. In January 1920, he opposed the Congress of Lushnja meeting, as well as the Vlora War ( 1920). In 1921, he published the brochure “Politika ime në Shqipëri në vitet 1916–1920” (“My politics in Albania in the years 1916-1920”). In the democratic movement of the years 1920–1924, he sided with the conservative forces. With the victory of the Democratic Revolution of June 1924, he emigrated to Greece and was at the head of the armed groups, which in December 1924 attacked from the southern border to overthrow the government of Fan Nol. In 1925, he was Minister of Finance. Within the framework of the Albanian-Italian financial agreement, he was accused of corruption, an accusation that was reaffirmed by a special parliamentary investigative commission.
