Agim Ramadani

On April 11, 1999, Agim Ramadani, a fighter of the Kosova Liberation Army, fell heroically fighting face to face with the enemy during the Battle of Koshara. He was born in the village of Zhegër in Gjilan. He finished high school in Gjilan. He attended the Military Academy in Zagreb, where he graduated as a land transport engineer. In the early 90s, he deserted from the Yugoslav army and immigrated to Switzerland with his family. There, in 1998, he was accepted as a member of the Academy of Arts. In 1999, he received the Grand Prix and the Gold Medal for poetry. He came into contact with the founders of the Kosova Liberation Army and enlisted to support it. After the epopee of Jasharaj, he finally returned to Kosova (March 1998) and joined the Kosova Liberation Army. He participated in many battles in the operational area of Dukagjin. Upon the formation of Brigade 138, he was appointed as its commander. Agim Ramadani was among the leaders of the battle of Koshara. After his fall, the 138th Brigade took the name “Agim Ramadani”.
