Dom Anton Zogaj, a martyr of the Catholic Church, was shot near Porto Romano in Durrës, without spending a full year in prison. He was born in Kthella of Mirdita. He was ordained a priest on April 26, 1932. After the ordination, he was appointed vicar of Shna Prende in Kurbin, then of Saint Lucia Cathedral in Durrës, then Chancellor of the Archbishop and secretary of Monsignor Vinçenc Prennushi. He was arrested in Durrës, on May 18, 1947, one day before Monsignor Vinçenc Prennushi (19.05.1947) and was imprisoned there. He was tried in Durrës on August 29, 1947, and sentenced to death on December 24, 1947. (In the photo: Dom Anton Zogaj)
