On April 15, 1936 , the first issue of the magazine “Bota e Re” (1936-1937), a biweekly social, cultural, literary and economic magazine, was published in Korça. It continued until February 15, 1937 (number 21), when it was banned by the government. It was founded by progressive intellectuals of the city. The magazine dealt with basic social, political and cultural problems in a democratic spirit. Directly or indirectly raised the issue of changing the social order. The magazine stigmatized the regime of King Zog, revealed the wounds of the society of that time, raised the issue of the liberation of women and the protection of freedom from the danger of Italian fascist aggression. Literary works were published on its pages. Prominent intellectuals of the time collaborated with this magazine, such as Millosh Gj. Nikola (Migjeni), Nonda Bulka, etc. The magazine also published translations of foreign writers, such as Viktor Hygo, Maxim Gorky, etc. (In the photo: The first issue of the magazine “Bota e Re”.)
