On April 6, 1994, Kin Dushi, journalist, publicist and writer, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Shkodër. He attended high school in Tirana. He participated in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, in the ranks of Berat guerilla units and Skrapar detachments. He was arrested and interned in the Prishtina concentration camp (1944). He described the life spent in internment in his first novel “Në gojën e ujkut” (“In the mouth of the wolf”) (1951). He worked in the newspaper “Zëri i Popullit” as a special correspondent (1950-1960); then in the State Estrada and in the magazine “Ylli” (1960-1967). In his publicist works, literary-publicist writings predominated, particularly descriptions. He summarized some of them in the book “Kronika e vendit tim: tregime dhe përshkrime” (“The Chronicles of My Country: Tales and Descriptions”) (1961). His journalistic activity is generally characterized by a critical look at reality and the discovery of flaws and social wounds. As a writer, he published the novel “Një emër mes yjeve” (“A name among the stars”) (1964) and the comedy “Banorët e shkallës nr. 6” (“The Residents of Staircase No. 6”) (1958). In 1967, he was arrested on the charge “For agitation and propaganda” and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Shortly after he was released from prison, he became blind. (In the photo: Kin Dushi)
