On April 9, 1877, Lef Nosi, activist of the national movement, and researcher, was born in Elbasan. He attended high school in Athens. He started his higher studies in the pharmacy branch there but interrupted them after two years and returned to Elbasan. I worked as an autodidact to expand my culture and learn foreign languages. He started his political and social activity in the early years of the 20th century. In 1909, he was elected vice-president of the “Vllazëria” club of Elbasan, and that same year, he founded and directed the “Afërdita” society; in 1910, he published the first newspaper of his city, “Tomorri”. Lef Nosi helped in the proceedings of the Congress of Elbasan (1909) and in the opening of the Normal School. In his newspaper, he published writings and articles translated from the European press, where the problems of the time and Albanian national interests were reflected. He was elected Minister of Posts and Telegraphs in the Provisional Government of Vlora. Lef Nosi carefully collected ancient and ethnocultural objects, archival materials, manuscripts and historical documents. Member of the national delegation to the Paris Peace Conference (1919–1920). Member of the High Regency Council at the time of the German occupation of Albania (October 1943). In 1945, he was arrested as a collaborator and sentenced to death; was shot in February 1946.
