The fighter of the Kosova Liberation Army, Nuri Gani Bushi, was martyred. He completed elementary school in Han i Elezit and high school in Kaçanik. In recent years, Nuri worked in Italy, where in addition to the work he did to support his family, he was also an activist and member of the diaspora association “Iliria”, based in the city of Celani, Italy. He participated in all the protests and demonstrations against the Serbian occupier in Han i Elezit. Nuri was included in the ranks of the Kosova Liberation Army, being stationed at the point of war in Puset e Nikës. After the formation of the first KLA units in Puset e Nikës in October 1998, he regularly kept in contact with the liberators and was at the service of the command. The Serbian army began serious preparations for a broad offensive against KLA units in these parts. On March 2, 1999, Serbian forces began encircling the positions from all directions, with additional military forces arriving from Ferizaj, Shtërpca and Kaçanik. The Serbs settled around the villages of Bob, Gajre, Laq, Puset e Nikës, Goranc, Rezhanc, etc. These forces were equipped with tanks, armored vehicles, heavy artillery and numerous trucks full of soldiers and war technicians. Fierce fighting took place throughout the day. In addition to Nuri Bushi, Xhemsedin Ibrahim Suma also fell that day, and soldiers Murat Loku, Xhelal Bushi and Mehmet Bilalli from Lubishta e Vitija were wounded. (In the photo: Nuri Gani Bushi)
