The special trial started in Tirana, through which 17 people were shot. The Special Court of Tirana (March 1 – April 13, 1945) “tried” and “sentenced,” in 31 sessions 60 nationalists accused of war criminals: 17 people were sentenced to death by firing squad, 8 to life imprisonment, and the others, with various prison sentences. Among them were well-known intellectuals and nationalists, Bahri Omari, Kolë Tromara, Aqif Përmeti, Ismail Golemi, etc., who were executed.
