Bukurosh Sejdini

Bukurosh Sejdini, the Albanian painter, was born in Elbasan. After graduating from the School of Drawing in Tirana, he attended the Academy of Arts in Bucharest, Romania (1937–1939). He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Florence, Italy. Sejdini was an active participant in the illegal anti-fascist movement in Albania. He was arrested and imprisoned several times by the Italian fascists. The painter Sejdini, after the war, worked as a drawing teacher at the pedagogical high school in his hometown. The artist’s creativity is dominated by paintings that reflect important figures of the Albanian National Renaissance, but, above all, the heroes and important leaders of the war and the Albanian Communist Party. In his paintings, Sejdini used realistic academic tools in the service of art commissioned by the government. He passed away in 1991. He holds the titles “Merited Painter” and “Merited Teacher”.
