Hyrë Emini, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the National Liberation Army in Macedonia (now North Macedonia), was killed in a military operation in Tanusha, Gostivar. She was born in Ferizaj on July 21, 1973. She began her studies in Albanian language and literature at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Prishtina, and later continued at the Faculty of History and Philology in Tirana. In June 1998, she returned from Albania and joined the Kosovo Liberation Army. She was stationed in Brigade 161 of the Nerodime Operational Zone in Jezerc. She participated in combat actions in the battles of Jezerc and Reçak. During the war, she reported from the war zones for Radio “Free Kosovo” and the news agency “Kosovapress”. After the war, she became involved in the Kosovo Protection Corps in Prishtina. With the beginning of the conflict in Eastern Kosovo and Macedonia, she joined the Liberation Army for Presheva, Medvegja, and Bujanoc, and later the National Liberation Army in Macedonia.
