Sejfulla Osman Merlika

Sejfulla Osman Merlika, a nationalist, was born in Kruja. He graduated from the city school in his hometown. He completed the officer training school in Tirana, and the high school at the Military Academy of Modena, in Italy. After his studies, he was appointed head of the military recruitment office, first in Berat and, later, in Korça. In November 1941, when Mustafa Kruja assumed the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, he was appointed adjutant to the prime minister until his resignation on January 3rd, 1943. In September 1944, he joined the nationalist forces of Abaz Kupi and was appointed commissar of the Qafa company. – Strain. After the departure of Abaz Kupi, he continued the resistance against the communist forces. He was killed in an attempt with the security forces, in 1946. His family, who meanwhile were interned in Berat, were released on July 31st, 1946. (In the photo: Sejfulla Osman Merlika)
