5, 6 and 7 March 1998
One of the most important battles of the Kosova Liberation Army took place against the former Yugoslavia’s military aggression. Multiple Serbian forces attacked the family of the legendary commander Adem Jashari, and, after a strong resistance in Prekaz, 55 people were killed, among which more than 20 of them were children and women. The sacrifice of the Jashari family, led by the legendary commander Adem Jashari, in Kosova is considered a major turning point , resolving the Kosova issue. Adem Jashari became a symbol and inspiration for the war of the Kosova Liberation Army, an army that continued on the path until the liberation of Kosova on June 12, 1999.
