Qani Mehmedi, journalist and publicist, was born in Kërçovë (North Macedonia). He completed his primary education in his hometown, the gymnasium in Tetova, the Faculty of Law in Prishtina, majoring in journalism and diplomacy, where he also completed his post-graduate studies. He was an editor at the student newspaper “Bota e re,” deputy editor-in-chief at the magazine “Zëri I rinisë,” editor at Kosova Television, a reporter at the Croatian National Radio, editor at “Tirana” radio and Albanian Radio Television. After the war, he was the editor-in-chief of the daily “Lajm” and the founder and editor-in-chief of the television “Uskana” in Kërçovë. He has written articles and comments for the daily “Rilindja” and the newspapers “Danas” of Zagreb and “Osllobogjenja” of Sarajevo. He is the author of the book “Shtetformimi i Kosovës” (“The state formation of Kosova”) (2011). He has received awards and recognition from the field of journalism. He passed away in Kosova, in 2017.
