On April 24, 1980, the National Museum of Medieval Art was inaugurated, one of the most important cultural centers in Albania and beyond. Its collection comprises over 7,000 religious and art objects, mainly icons, and fewer stone, wood, metal, and textile works created from the early Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century by artists from various regions of the country. In the main hall, a collection of the best icons and objects, created over the centuries and reflecting different moments of the development of Albanian iconography and their main representatives, have been placed. There are works by anonymous authors of the XIII-XIV centuries and other well-known ones such as: Onufri, Onufër Qiprioti, Mësues Kostandini, Jeromonaku, Shpataraku, Selenicasi, the Zografi brothers, etc. (In the photo: View of the National Museum of Medieval Art, Korça.)
