In Durrës was born Hajg Zaharian, composer, and Merited Artist. He studied composition and graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts (1974). Until 1980, he worked with the amateur artistic movement; later, he became a teacher at the secondary art school in Durrës and at the Academy of Arts (Tirana), where he also headed the theory-composition department for several years. He started his creative activity early, showing interest in all genres of music creations, as the author of dozens of songs, various vocal and instrumental chamber music creations, major vocal-symphonic, orchestral, stage works ( the ballet “Legjenda e rules Honinë,” 1987), etc. Hajg Zaharian distinguished himself, among others, in the field of film music, where there are 27 collaborations with well-known filmmakers of Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re “. Some of his best achievements in this regard are the music of the films: “Dollia e dasmës sime ” (1978), “Njeriu i mirë” (1982), ” Dora e ngrohtë ” (1983), ” Taulanti kërkon një motër ” (1984 ).
