In the Shtime-Jezerc-Carralevë region (Kosovo), the “Battle of Carralevë” took place, which took place between the Albanian insurgents, led by Isa Boletini, and the forces of the Ottoman army, commanded by General Shefqet Turgut Pasha. 20 thousand Turkish soldiers took part against 8 thousand Albanians. On May 8, the Turkish units launched a mass attack, but met the determined resistance of the Albanians. Repeated attacks on May 9–10 tore through the insurgents’ defense sector in Jezerc. On May 11, Ottoman forces and two other groups assisted by several new battalions from Prizren and Mitrovica surrounded Isa Boletini’s group. In the afternoon, the insurgents broke the siege and retreated towards Drenica. There were many killed and wounded on both sides. (In the photo: The leader of the battle, Isa Boletini)
