One of the luminaries of our national culture, Fan Stilian Noli, was born in the village of Qyteze of Edirne, inhabited by Albanians. Since his youth, he became a prominent thinker and activist of the National Renaissance. There are no areas of our life where he has not left his mark, where he has not served as an “Icon of the Nation”. He was first and unattainable in religion and belief, in literature and translation, in music and politics, in criticism and oratory. Although he spent most of his life in exile, far from his homeland, no one did more than him for Albania, no one gave more to the Albanian culture and tradition. The legacy that Noli left to future generations is not measured by money, as he lived and died poor. But everything that Noli left behind, made him a monument, immortalized him and ensured him his deserved place in the Albanian Pantheon. (In the photo: Fan Stilian Noli)
