Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, an American poet who had a very wide range of literary activities, passed away in the USA. He wrote poems, novels, plays, and translated the classic literature of the European peoples. Under the encouragement of Dora d’Istria, he composed the romantic poem “Skanderbeg”, on the theme of the return of the hero to Kruja after the battle of Nishi. The poet presented the leader as a legendary hero. The work is masterfully translated by Fan S. Noli (1916). (In the photo: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
